Comes in two versions ….

  • 59+ LPS Lite with the ideal 47.5mm pole spread for the neck position (another Kinman exclusive)
  • 59+ LPS with 50mm pole spread for the bridge position

Kinman does not skimp on parts cost and “so be it” if we find we can do better with more parts.

  • Number of parts in our 59+ LPS pickup: 38 to 43, depending on which version.

Direct replacement for conventional humbuckers such as Gibson, Duncan etc. Some guitars (a few Ibanez, some Fender Strat and one or two others) have pickups with excessively rounded corners. If a pickguard is fitted (for example Fender Strat Deluxe) a small modification to the pickguard opening to accommodate a Kinman humbucker is well worth the effort since Kinman’s sound so much better. The cavity in the body is suitable as it is.

Hook-up cable

  • Standard is 2 conductor shielded with robusted ends
  • ESSC splitting version has one two conductor and one 3 conductor shielded cable with robust ends.

  • 380mm / 15″ long.

Connection means available

  • Bare wires for soldering.
  • Kinman connectors for plugging into any Kinman Goodbye-Soldering Harness.- including the 2 pickup KHP-90 harness for Les Paul style guitars.
  • Gibson 2 wire and 5 wire Quick Connect plug for Gibson circuit board harness.

 

Pot & Capacitor values

  • Best with 500k Ohm for Volume & Tone for both full and split single coil modes. Many Gibson’s have 300k which makes a darker, less dynamic sound so it’s best to change them.
  • Normal tone cap value of 0.022µF in 63 ~ 100 volt Polyester. Smaller value lessen the severity of Treble cut, higher values increase it.

Output Polarity: 

  • in-phase with Gibson and Copy humbuckers
  • in-phase with all other Kinman pickups
  • opposite phase to Fender

Pole spreads

  • 47.5mm (introduced March 2021) Perfect string-over-pole alignment for Neck position for Gibsons and similar guitars with 52mm bridge.
  • 50mm for all bridge positions except the bridge position of a Strat that has a vintage 6 point bridge and saddle spread of 56.4mm
  • 53mm for bridge position in Strats with a genuine vintage 6 point bridge, saddle spread of 56.4mm.

Mounting options

  • conventional 2 screws mounting, standard American thread, Philips x drive.
  • also available with 3 screw mounting (you specify the distance between the two top screws).
  • mounting screws and silicon rubber tube springs included.

Covers and colors

  • Closed and Open top Natural Nickel-Silver, Kin-Chrome and Gold plated covers. Our exclusive Kin-Chrome covers have Zero impact on sonic performance (a world first)
  • Kinman humbuckers are engineered differently without the molded plastic bobbins that all other humbuckers have. Removing covers will not reveal bobbins and we advise against it.

Impersonator MV (Modern Vintage - formerly known as Impersonator 54 v5) with Kinman's Gen-2 technology Customer Stuart says ..."These Kinman Impersonator 54 pickups sound very similar to the Bare Knuckle 63 Veneer 64's – but better.
